A great hen party, or bachelorette, is one nobody forgets. The bride-to-be doesn’t need to know anything about wine for it to work. In fact, that often makes it more fun. A private wine experience in Bordeaux with a sommelier creates exactly that kind of moment.

Why choose a wine experience for a hen party?
Because it works for everyone. You don’t need a group of wine enthusiasts, you just need a group of people ready to have a good time. When you’re discovering wine together, you laugh, you guess wrong, you learn, and you walk away with memories that last.
A wine experience creates conversation and connection naturally. No forced icebreakers, no awkward silences. The wine does the work.
And for a bride who loves wine, it’s a way to celebrate something she genuinely cares about, surrounded by the people who matter most. Rather than another standard evening, she walks away with a real experience, and often a bottle she helped create herself.
What formats do we offer for hen parties?
Every session is built from scratch around the group and the bride-to-be. Here are the four formats I offer for hen parties and bachelorettes:
Discovering the wines of Bordeaux. Left bank, right bank – we explore Bordeaux’s great terroirs glass by glass. Saint-Émilion, Médoc, Pessac-Léognan: each appellation tells a different story. The perfect format for a group that wants to learn while having fun, without jargon or pressure.
The CréaWine® blending workshop. Each participant plays the role of head winemaker. You blend your own wine by combining different grape varieties – Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and walk away with your own personalised bottle. This workshop won the Concours Lépine, France’s most prestigious innovation award. It’s one of the most popular formats for hen parties because it creates a tangible, unique memory.
Painting with wine. We paint with red wine on a support of your choice – a creative, unexpected way to engage with wine beyond drinking it. The session opens with a tasting of four wines, each revealing different shades and intensities that will influence what you create. Everyone walks away with their own artwork, tinted with the natural hues of the wine. Original, convivial, and great for photos.
Les Terroirs de ma Vie: the premium experience. This is the most personal format – and the most memorable. I build the entire tasting around the bride-to-be’s story: her origins, her travels, the places that have shaped her. Perhaps she studied in Champagne, spent a year in Argentina, or grew up near the Loire Valley. Every glass represents a chapter of her life. This format requires real preparation – sourcing specific wines, research, storytelling, which is what makes it truly one of a kind.

Where does it take place?
I come to you, that’s the point. Several options depending on what works for your group:
At your accommodation. If you’ve rented a house or apartment for the weekend, I set everything up on-site. The most relaxed format – everyone is comfortable, and the evening flows naturally.
At a private venue in Bordeaux. I can recommend and organise a venue suited to your group size and the atmosphere you’re looking for.
At Château Vieux Mougnac. Our family estate, in the heart of the vineyards. For an experience truly in the landscape: authentic, calm, away from the city.
On the Bassin d’Arcachon or at Cap Ferret. For groups who want to combine the Atlantic coast with a wine session. The oysters-and-white-wine pairing is a particular favourite.
How many people?
I typically work with groups of 6 to 20 for hen parties and bachelorettes. Smaller groups work too, it simply makes the experience more intimate. For larger groups, I adapt the format accordingly.
Whatever the level of the group, complete beginners or seasoned wine lovers, I calibrate the session to match. The goal isn’t to turn anyone into a sommelier. It’s to create an exceptional evening around wine.

Why Bordeaux for a wine hen party?
Bordeaux is the wine capital of the world, and one of Europe’s most beautiful cities to spend a weekend in. It’s two hours from Paris by high-speed train, well-connected from London, and offers a remarkable range of accommodation, restaurants, and experiences.
Combining a hen weekend in Bordeaux with a private wine experience is the best of both worlds: the celebration and the change of scenery, with something more personal and authentic layered on top.
